spring fever

April 17, 2012 |

Spring is magical for so many reasons-the warmer weather, longer days, flowers EVERYWHERE, and in my case an intense desire to shop! I can’t help myself, every spring I am overwhelmed with the feeling of want, not need-want! I want new clothes, new outdoor furniture, new camera, new sunglasses-it’s insane! Soon reality sets in and I realize while spring may bring many blooms, a wad of cash from the money tree is not one of them. Eventually I calm down and realize, “No Piper you do not need to re-landscape your entire backyard. Instead-let’s talk accents.” Accents do my head and my wallet a lot of good. It’s amazing how a cute little pot or a beautiful folding chair can brighten up a tired backyard. Add in a couple of small iceberg roses from the nursery and wah-lah! A bright and cheery backyard can be made without pulling up concrete, installing a fountain, or laying new sod (which all sound amazing by the way). While these faves from Anthropologie may not exactly be cheap, compared to what my spending spring-fever could muster up, they’re pretty darn good! What are some of your favorite spring purchases?
